low voltage network monitoring

The growth of the use of electric vehicles, and the expected acceleration of sales, has led to a challenge for licensed network operators. Research has shown that a significant number of these vehicles will be charged at home by their drivers. The charging demand on the low voltage network is expected to increase dramatically. This could cause network capacity constraints.  Operators will need to have more real time information on power flows in their low voltage networks.

We have been at the forefront of this new service which involved the retro fitting of current measuring devices on all 3 phases of all feeders on existing low voltage fuse cabinets. This work requires highly skilled and trained operatives operating in live substations. Our service also includes the installation of remote terminal units (RTU) to transmit the data back to the network control centres where it can be used. Our services include project management, customer service, operational duties, electrician duties, excavation and reinstatement, cable installation and cable jointing.
